GOLD CREEK LODGE

A Dirt Bike Oasis in the Idaho Panhandle

The Gold Creek Lodge in the Idaho panhandle provides a variety of world-class riding experiences in a setting that can only be described as idyllic: a place or experience that is extremely pleasant, beautiful or peaceful. The Gold Creek Lodge offers off-road motorcyclists all three.

The lodge is located in Bayview, ID just 45 minutes north of Coeur d’Alene in the panhandle forest of northern Idaho on the shores of beautiful Lake Pend Orielle, the largest lake in the state.  Launched in 2014 the lodge is the brainchild of Dave McCahill and was designed to be a one-stop destination for groups of dirt bike enthusiasts looking for the ultimate in a dirt bike vacation experience.

“I call it like a ski resort for dirt bikes”, said McCahill. “We have restaurants, rooms, rentals, lodging, retail. My vision was to have more of an exclusive type retreat where we would have groups experience all the stuff the lodge has to offer from the lake to the riding to hanging around the fire and all the good times.”

The name is a little misleading because the operation involves much more than just the lodge itself.  In addition to the 10 room 20 bed lodge the 20 acre property also offers traditional tent camping, unique YURT accommodations and a modern RV Park so no matter what your style or budget there is a nice comfortable spot for you to rest your head after a long day in the saddle.  And it all sits right on the banks of the lake with its own marina and docks.

Surrounded by the Coeur D’Alene and Bitterroot Mountains with thousands of acres of USFS public lands the number of trail miles accessible from the Gold Creek lodge is impossible to measure.  Literally hundreds of miles of trails within the Coeur D’Alene National Forest are all within a days ride and all offer challenging riding experiences and stunning northern Idaho panhandle scenery.

Trails in the area are extensive and range from fast fun fire roads to seemingly endless single track and the Gold Creek staff is expert at designing a route and picking out a set of trails suitable for any group from beginners to A level riders.  The lodge offers two very special experiences designed specifically for groups, the exclusive Gold Creek Experience and the one-of-a-kind MotoStar Experience.

The Gold Creek Experience offers guests a turn-key package that includes 5 nights in the lodge, 4 full days of riding and exclusive access to the on-site Enduro Training Facilities. The package also includes transportation to and from the Spokane International Airport along with plenty of good food and even draft beer at the bar is included!  The daily rides are typically 4-6 hours long and cover 40-60 miles with lunch provided. Back at the lodge in the evening guests can relax around the property or on the lake before they gather in the tavern for dinner, beers and the obligatory bench racing. When the tavern closes at 9pm the party moves outside by the fire pit for more stories and good times. While the guests relax in the evening the Gold Creek team is hard at work back in the shop cleaning, maintaining and prepping the bikes for the next days ride.

The exclusive MotoStar Experience takes it to the next level and offers groups a very special vacation package unavailable anywhere else, the opportunity to ride and train with a professional off-road racer on an all-inclusive 5-night 4-day riding experience.  This is your chance to train and learn from some of the best in the business, they will help you with everything from proper gear selection and bike setup to advice on the importance of training regimens and diet. Not only will you get the chance to experience all the quality services and amenities of the Gold Creek.
